Well folks looks like this OB project is coming to an end. I have attached a few pictures for everybody to see what it looks like now. While I still have the engine wiring harness to install, I have it about 98% complete. Once I finish up the last 2% of the harness it is a real simple plug and play setup. So here is what I started with and the finished engine project...

If you remember or followed this project along, I had a lot of broken parts all through out this rebuild. The lower foot was an issue as was the actual skeg too. But all that is history now;



All that is old news now.

I hope everybody enjoyed this project as much as I did/do. I learned so much and actually enjoyed bring this engine back from the brink... I know the cowling design doesn't match anything Johnson ever produced or marketed, but that's great thing about doing any rebuild, you can do what you do what you want and who cares...it is your project... Thanks for all the help and comments too...

Now onto the trailer and boat. I have another thread for those issues started as well...

awesome job!! and the free style on the cowling looks like it could have been factory..... you did such a good job that most people would never know that it wasnt !
