1976 evinrude 85hp stalling?

Hey everybody I took my flats boat out today with my 1976 85hp evinrude and it started up great and ran awesome for about 4 miles wot until somehow I ran out of gas lol.. Well I had my friend come out and rescue me so I poured his mixed gas into my tank just enough to get to his dock about half a mile away and I idle in knowing there was too much oil in his gas because of the smoke everywhere. Well I got to his house changed my gas and put proper oil in it and now when I try to put it into gear the engine stall and the engine won't run good unless the high idle was on. Well I got it got it to the run idling very rough and flush it at my house and it ran perfect again. I'm stumped what could this be? Thanks

Junk fuel. You may have sludged up a carb or two.

Do you think I should run some seamfoam or something

you can try seafoam and if it doesnt clear up pull the carbs and clean them that should fix your problem sounds like thats oil might hace clogged up a jet in the carb like i said try the seafoam first theres no since in pulling the carbs off if you dont have to

Well I went to start it today and for the first start it started right but sounded like something like a exhaust leak was going on or a bearing but it cleared up after a couple minutes of idling . It seams like its running good out of water so far.
