+1 with racer...few points on that carb...did yours have the cork float or has it been replaced with a plastic float?...does the tab on the float arm point towards the carb body when the carb is right side up?...carb inverted, is the float parallel with the carb body?...is the inlet needle all metal or rubber tipped?...did you apply the needle valve pull off clip < shepard's crook >?...carb body and float bowl apart, do you see a passageway in the outer casting of the carb body that remains open when the bowl gasket is in place?..< a 5th. hole that isn't thread for a bowl screw >...that passage leads to the mixing chamber for the idle circuit< I believe racer has already described this >...if you'll remove your idle mixture needle and the core plug on top of the carb, you can really clean that circuit and the 3 or 4 small holes that enter the carb throat behind the throttle butterfly...all of that needs to be clear of deposits and fuel varnish...set the idle mixture needle at 1 and 1/2 turns out from a light seat for a beginning point... I went round an round with a 6 hp. carb and the final solution was to reinstall the cork float, for whatever reason it would work when the plastic one wouldn't...I've got a personal distaste for the rubber tipped needle valves in use with 2 stroke fuel mix using ethanol mixed gas...this includes weed eaters and blowers as well..
