Hello, motor was running fine and without any warning bogged out and quit. Still had spark and all it would do was loud backfires. I took off flywheel and one flang on the end plate (this houses the trigger) was broke. So found another end plate and put in a new trigger while I was down there, Got it all put back together and same ole thing still backfiring and not running, ANY SUGGESTIONS

What broke the flange? Did flywheel center hub rub the broken part/s? Is motor noisy sounding when starting? Did you get correct trigger as some models have a different arm. Have you checked to see if you have the white/blk and white reversed on pack? Did you remove the coil wires on switchbox and reinstall them ? The reasons I asked are:
Did flywheel center hub rub the broken part/s?: hub center may have heated and moved changing trigger magnet position...
Is motor noisy sounding when starting? I have seen a crank break at the #2 throw and cause weird starting problem....
Did you remove the coil wires on switchbox and reinstall them ? Firing order reversed,,,

Outside of end plate broke and was not rubbing on anything.I had it running for a bit and then died again no spark now. I am waiting on a new stator and for now have no ideal what is going on. If new stator don't work I'll be taking it to a mechanic.
What would be accomplished by taking off and putting back on wires do?
How to check for broken crank?
No more noise than usual

May just be the woodruff key that aligns the flywheel to the crank in addition to what else you found wrong. Whatever happened could have damaged that too. Backfire is timing and a bad woodruff certainly affects timing. Pull the flywheel and inspect it for any sign of damage and if any, replace it.
