well templates are made up, still need to make a few adjustments to them. its almost as tho someone had cut the finished product out . meaning looks like they cut the gel coated fibreglass shell that was originally there?

from what i have seen online but very little of is that this used to be glassed in to the end of the quarter berths. can anyone give me some insite as to why someone would cut this open? more storage? should i try making a frame and reglass it in?

If it's anything like my old 27 there's very little space between the hull and inner liner. The only reason to cut it would be to back up a motor mount. IMHO

to back a motor mount one would just shimmy through the cockpit locker hatch , would they not? i can do it. with ease.

my idea for a frame up would be either 1x1 frame, or just use fibreglass cloth. mount it somehow to the cockpit sole underneath drape it down to floor , apply resin, let dry , repeat process untill thick enough then run fiberglass on sides and top to existing inner skin? would this work? or would gravity be my enemy ? even with fibreglass somehow tacked to cockpit sole?

Yep mine was the same, cockpit hatch on the starboard and quarter berth on the port. Why the liner was cut is a mystery.

well i ordered some more stuff tonight. instead of renogy solar kit i have decided to go with ecoworthy solar kit 100 watts. i have also ordered my new horn with horn button and some more shrink wrap. and a few items for my new phone. next i will be getting new wiring for the mast, a winch to raise the mast, bilge pump, some anchor line, new anchor, and a few other tidbits ... IE led mast center light .

well solar panel will be in tommorow. even tho im fully covered i will still be putting this somewhere. lol just not sure where yet......will post pics when i have figured it out. as for the horn i still have yet to place it atop of my mast sideways , and also get new wiring to install the lights as well. then its a few minor upgrades and then ready to splash come thawout. (seal in knot meter through hull) with 5200. and finish cleaning and painting under cockpit....

I have been contemplating this now since last year when Islandexplorer did up some sketches for me. I have decided to go this route with my boat. it will not be completed before my first splash but will be worked on this coming off season.

well i installed the mid mast light. next it will be the top mast light. its a little bit to high on the port side. so i will move the screw down a little bit. so next on my list is to get my anchor winch, connector for the mast lights, and some gorilla tape black to run the wires outside the mast , as i couldnt run them inside. i will also be using wire loom to keep them .

Why are you using an anchor winch like the one you posted? Those do not last long and they will not be able to pull up the chain. Remember sailboats move with the current while anchored and powerboats, especially planning boats, move with the wind.

A boat that size don't need any windlass. I'm relieved that you are running your wire for lights in the mast. Save your coins for sails!
