Ah, Hunt for Red October, one of my favorites! The real story is very interesting too. Both of those colors remind me of Russian cold war naval vessels... Cherenkov radiation/effect can be quite beautiful, assuming it isn't unplanned. :ROFLMAO:

as of right now, all the vberth foam is now removed. YAY! (3 Big garbage bags) most of it was water logged, now i have the heater running in the area , so hopefully it dries out..... and whatever is under the floor. i could see right to the back from under the floor panel. dirty under there. but oh well. next it will be the port side settee. i will not be doing any mods to anything as far as kitchen location. i will however be doing the vberth. i will make a piece that slides under existing matress . or just foldup.

well i got my other light today. hooked it up to the battery , and its not as bright as the one i installed on my stern. so i will be swapping them out. the mast light will be the already stern light and the light i was going to put on mast will be the stern light.

I don't like where you located the stern light. I suspect the main sheet will remove it in short order. Or a dock line.

that is where the original stern light sat.

judging by the way the sails sit on the oday i would say where i have temporarily placed the horn would be fine . does not look like anything will rip it off from there. i just want to be able to run the compressor as close to my battery as possable. and that means where i have the horn placed right now is ideal so i can bolt my compressor to the bulkhead. then run a line to the horn button wich will be installed in cockpit. and maybe install another horn button on switch panel ?

i guess the only place i can really mount these is on my spreader bar or drill into my mast and mount them there?

You know my thoughts, nothing above the rub rail that's not necessary to sail the boat. Sailor's go to great pains to prevent sails being damaged by the spreaders. Sails are expensive.

well after many hours of deliberation and hming and hawing along with many busting my chops on this airhorn subject, logically thinking about this. i will no longer be installing them on my boat. so, your asking yourselves this question now "what is he going to do with the airhorns:? well you see . the story goes a lil like this..... back about 4 years ago i picked me up a daymak road warrior. . ok so now you ask me , What is a daymak road warrior? as the story goes on , the daymak road warrior is an all terrain street legal ebike. can you see where i am heading with this story? anyways. the existing horn really sucks . so i plan on installing this unit into it. as for a boat horn i will buy a few hand held air canisters. thank you all for the replies and knowledge and for bustin my chops. lol..... so now your asking, what does this bike look like. well here it is. mind you this is the stock photo. i have mine modded out with a few things. but untill the airhorn is affixed i wont show it. mine does not have the mufflers. and i also installed bush lights. and a led scrolling msg plate.

Sounds like a plan, but I had a thought for the horn. If you mount a bow sprit on your boat and hung the horn under it that might work.

I was actually thinking later that a lot of people mount them up on the mast too. Electrical lines are a pain, but not impossible.

You seemed determined to install air horns, and that thought came to mind but the little hand held canister is good. They generally fit in a cup holder and are there when you need it but can be stored below easily when you don't.
I've been sailing most of my long life and tend to be a minimalist sometimes to a fault when it comes to stuff on the deck that's not necessary.

both great ideas. but the one im going to go with is the bow sprit. hopefully i can also mount my compressor there as well maybe under a box with just the horn ends showing like 2 big black eyes. lol or better still buy a plastic tool box and modify it so i can fit everything i need in it. including its own 12v 20ah battery?

I will be mast installing , so the lines will run inside mast . the airhorn is one unit. so no need to run a long tube up to it for the air.... lol
