I recently purchased a 18 ft Starcraft with Mercury 115 on it. That motor has worked fine although I think it's too big for my light little boat. I was considering downgrading to a Johnson 60 HP. I have someone interested in trading the 60 Johnson and some additional compensation for the 115 Mercury. I'm assuming that the Mercury is worth more than the Johnson but I don't know by how much. Does anybody know the value of a 1975 115 HP Mercury 2 stroke with controls? Thanks for your advise in this matter. If there is a bluebook for used motors I would love to know where I can find it. I can post a video if it will help.
Thanks again!

Demand in your local area determines what you can get for it.-----Ability to get repairs from a shop determines the demand for older motors.----Is this an inline 6 cylinder ?

Your boat can handle it.
Throttle back a bit if you don't want to go so fast.
I had a Starcraft 18 SS with a 65 on it.
Ran ok, once you got on plane, which took a while.
Replaced with a 115 hp Merc.

I also have a Starcraft Mariner 18.
It also has a 115 Merc.
I wouldn't even think about going with less than 75 HP.
