What can be done/added to this motor to increase horsepower and how much of a gain could I wind up with

If the engine is tuned properly and the wide open RPM is correct, you have all you are going to get. If you need more power, you need to get a bigger engine.

You cannot modify the exhaust so you can't really increase Fuel/timing/etc.

Do a good decarb and full tune up including carb rebuild. You might get some of the original power back.

non-oxygenated fuel has a bit more heat energy..

More HP = Bigger motor in my book.
Can it be done.....yes, there are many folk out here that do.
Is it worth it for the majority of folk out here........No !!!

Just my opinion though.
