I'm sure there is room in there for three batteries, but where to put them,:violin::kiss:

Well just convert one of those foward benches,:highly_amused: oh wait, now need bigger outboard to counteract the weight issue. Hmmm :jaw:

Jason, a couple days ago I was wondering if you still had that tucked away somewhere.

A - K.I.S.S. - repair. Looks a little better than the last transom extension.

Does it still have the capacity plate, just wondering what it might be.

Yah, she's just been flipped and waiting for some attention is all.

Capacity plate is a gonner. My guess is that it's at least rated to 15. With the two beefy knee braces maybe up 25. She's plenty peppy with the 15. I'd like to find a good deal on a short shaft 15/20/25 as I know swapping the 15 Evinrude kicker from the Islander to this Mirro Craft and back again will get old very fast.

This just popped up from a guy I know...

1985 Evinrude 20 hp

Still long shaft but I could accommodate. Whatcha think?

15 - 25 hp tillers in my area seem to be kinda rare and a smidge pricy too.

Looks like a nice motor but its not attatched to a glass boat for you to chop up. Im not so sure you could handle buying a motor thats not attatched to a glasser. I think you enjoy the therapy of cutting up a glass boat to much :D

Don't know if you're taking this one out for the Walleye opener, but if you do hope the new motor and that high tech transom treat you right. What no pics of the new power:grumpy:

I'm off for the trout streams, a boat free camping weekend. No walleye here, unless something is really upside down in the fishing world, all this flooding and such.

There it is, 1985 Evinrude 20 HP LS Electric Start, excellent condition, totally rehabbed (mechanicals), runs perfect!

Re: 1975 14' Mirro Craft Utility Rebuild

So today was easily the nicest day of 2013 so far, so awesome outside!

I thought it'd be a good day to check the new Evinrude and compare it to the 15 HP.

Off to the lake, Ethan was my wing man today...

First up, the 15...

Then the 20...

That's with one big dood, one little dood, 6 gallons of fuel, one group 24 batt, an extra 4" of long shaft leg in the water and some other misc. stuff on board. So the 5 extra horses bought me 4 mph. Which I don't care a whole lot, but that's aok by me.

That 20 is a lot heavier than the 15! Here they are side by side...

But man that new 20 runs nice, smooth and just a bump of the key to start. Tiller drive outboard motors are really cool, more of you guys should try em:cool::becky:

Once I build out the full transom that'll get the motor up where it needs to be and should be more comfortable all around (prolly just a smidge faster too).
