Kitch, project is looking good. Love CC boats.

What if any is your plan to add structure or stability to the hull?

Mariners had / have a bow seating / front platform that supported the bow. They also had some added bracing on the sides.

A Holiday would have structure from the bow cap, an SS would have structure with the consoles.

This is the month for BIG stripers on Lanier, yep I'm going to put a large storage up front and use it for structural integrity.
I just ordered my rivets from jay-cee and went with 1/4" for stringers alum/steel mandrel twice the shear as alum/alum.
all but 3 that held stringers to the ribs were gone.

Dissimilar metals below deck, in/near the bilge, where you cant monitor them doesnt sound like a good plan.

Ask Watermann, he found lots of steel mandrels and steel mandrel rivets that were corroded when he did his Chief.

I will make sure I get a mandrel for every pop. You are right but I am hard on a boat,so this one needs to be SUPER RIGID.

Using steel be sure seal the rivet mandrel holes up well with 5200 to keep water from making their shear strength that of dust inside aluminum. Oh and don;t loose one of those mandrel inside your boat underneath something.

Push the steel mandrel out of the rivet some, put a dollup of 5200 in the shank and after the shank pops, some more in the end. That should seal the steel from air and water as good as it can be sealed.

As far as the live well, a cooler with a aerator works well and is removable if the family just wants to tool around the lake. Check out and search on GON, Kitch..

If you proceed with this build as a center console, the insulated swing-back seats can double as a livewell. The Todd for example has rounded inside corners to minimize baitfish (i.e. herring) from breaking their necks.

question of the day,how to bend the tabs back down flat? and the po must have had a kicker on it because there are a PILE OF HOLES
on port side. console.jpg holes.jpg tabs.jpg

Oh man you really went to town bending those! Since yours is bent back beyond 90 they may not go back perfectly. If your end caps cover the wrinkle then it's not an issue. I would back the underside with a 2x4 and even try lifting up to gain more height then have at it with a mallet. Have your end cap handy to see if you got them down enough.

Watermann, I'm more concerned about the 12 holes,I guess I will use the smallest screws I can w/5200. If I don't thru bolt
all 12 holes it will probably leak?

This is what I would do to cover the old kicker holes. Sand and clean that whole area good. The red square is new cover plate of aluminum. black circles around eahch hole is some jb weld applied and sanded back smooth. Little black holes SS screws w/washers. White lines 5200. should be good to go and can even add new bracket over it if needed.
