1974 115Hp Johnson any good?

I'm considering switching out my 1968 Johnson 100 HP(electric shift, power pulse ignition) for a 1974 115HP Johnson.

Would the power tilt and controls from my old one work?
Are the 1974's any better than 1968?

Was a fine engine 36 years ago, but then I was a fit and trim 38 year old suit at that time.

I hope it has had better care than my carcass.
