I have recently gotten a 1973 Thundercraft boat! It needs a lot of restoration. The first thing I wanted to start with was the flooring replacement in the boat. so If anyone could please give me detailed instructions on how to replace the flooring I would greatly appreciate it

Welcome to iBoats!

First thing you should know is a soft deck is usually an indication of problems below. Once you get the deck removed, don't be surprised to find that you will need to do extensive work on the stringers, bulkheads and possibly the transom as well. Is this and I/O or Outboard setup? As JBC mentioned, Pics always help us to help you.

The first link in my signature below has a lot of helpful info for you.

I appreciate the information a lot. im not very educated in the boat terminology so I understand some of the concepts that you are telling me. Is there anyway to do this project cheaply? If your stringers are decent but the side stringers are rotten how can I rteplace them. Ive seen in some videos that I could use 2 x 4's along the side of the stringers. And is necessary to put some kind of foam below the flooring? One more question how do I fasten the floor down?

Really no way to do it "Cheaply And Safely" When you're out on open water you must ensure the boat will get you and your passengers back to shore safely. The Deck is screwed to the stringers or can be adhered with glue. A good guesstimate for a full restore of a boat like yours would be in the $1,500 to $2,000 dollar range.
