if its original it still may b in the alt how many wires to the alt if its extrnal follow the wire harness from alt the two plug in wires u will want to follow

probably screwed to the inside of the transom someplace.

i have a 73 120 and it is internal.but alot can change in a year.

I had an internal regulator Delco 10-SI alternator on my 72 140HP Mercruiser. It looked like this, except it had the wire mesh spark suppression cover on the back (and front).
