That's a beautiful boat there man! Sure wish I had a heated shop to work on mine, but hey, it'll warm up eventually. Right?

Well done! She looks really good. That should be easy to recognize when I fish over in Pt Huron.

Fella's, again thanks for the kind words. The real inspiration is all of you. Would never of tried this without this resource to draw on.

I am really wanting to get the boat in the water this year but I recently have a business oppty that may slow me down. Thinking about buying a rv park that has Hugh potential.

The gang must have really forced you to hang the Etec. :D What's your timetable to splash her? It's gonna be awesome!

Re: 1972 Chieftain MKIV 25 footer ver 2

My goal was going to be early this summer but work may be put on hold once I find out if my bid for a campground i am trying buy is approved. I am making a proposal this week on a 126 acre rv park that has been shutdown since 2002. The potential is huge so if the campground happens the boat takes a back seat. If it doesn't happen then it will full speed ahead on the boat.

Does a guy need to get a bigger trailer when you hang the OB off like that? To help support it on the trailer? looks way back from the rear of the trailer, hate to see all that work fail due to anything off the water for sure!

That is a good question. The bunks go the very end of the transom but you are right the weight is further out. I know a couple of guys on this forum have done this mod. It would be great to hear from them on the trailer question.

I don't know which thread, but someone around here somewhere added a 2" receiver to the bottom of his trailer. Then built a supporting 'arm' that fit into that receiver & extends back to support the bottom of the pod.

In to trailer to & from the ramp, out before you back down the ramp...........

^^^^^ That just might be a good ounce of prevention. And pro-active before the need arises.
