I have 1972 Chrysler charger 186 boat with a 70Hp Chrysler outboard. A couple of different problems, it has 120-50-125 for compression and it always dies when i put it in neutral. I cleaned all the carbs, they were in good shape. I can run it in neutral at home in the driveway but when it gets in the water it wont idle in N.. If I put in forward and then start it, it will take right off, but the second that i try to put it in N. it dies. Itll start right up every time but it does this without fail. please help.

That cylinder with the bad compression is killing you. When you run a motor on muffs you dont have back pressure so it will run fine with a dead cylinder. As soon as you put it in water it will kill. You are going to have to remove the head and find out how extensive the damage is. You might be lucky and only have to replace the head gasket.
