1972 20 hp johnson hose??

I have a beautifull 1972 johnson 20 hp tiller engine. What is the hose for that runs from the block around the side back to another tiny hose connector?

recirculation hose. takes unburnt fuel for bottom of crankcase and reintroduces it to be burnt.

Ok thanks it was off after a day in the everglades and I was worried that I may have caused some damage when i removed the cover...

is there a way you could post a pic of it ...id just like to see it...you know...knowledge in case someone else has the same prob...but i definatly learb something every day here
