1971 sportwin 9.5 throttle control

Throttle control will not turn to slow or fast. Just to start and shift. Any ideas? Engine has been sitting in garage for many years.

The twist throttle should only turn so far while in neutral, shift it into gear and see if the throttle will advance for you.

Great! That worked for the fast side. But I have to hold up/down on the shift lever to get the linkage to pass the stop. It's the same with fwd and reverse. Looks like their might be play in the shift linkage. Any Ideas?

The throttle still will not go to the slow side and stop either. Does it even need it too?
