I have a 1971 25hp johnson outboard motor. seems to run a little rough, it has good spark, &clean carb.
took it out the other day and it was sputtering, wouldn't get up to full speed.
when I took the cowling off, I could see where the throttle wasn't advancing all the way on the plate under the flywheel, so I fired it back up, stuck my finger in there and moved the plate just the 1/4" or so that it wasn't moving by itself, when I did that she ran like a champ! is there any way I can adjust that plate? or throttle linkage? seems like it might need to go just a little counter clockwise..?
