So I thought I had a carb priblem but it appears that its the throttle linkage that is not letting my engine rev up. The engine dies at aprox 1/4 throttle. However if I rev it to the point just before it dies I can move the carb cam forward and rev it higher than I can with thd throttle lever.what is the proper procedure for setting the linkage to advance that cam quicker. I have already maxed out the adjustment on the roller?

Update:I checked theinkage accordong to the seloc manual and it looks good. Could it be a timing issue? Or still a linkage problem? Any ideas would be grest! The boat launch opens onthe 22nd and I'm hoping to get outand run it in the water then.

If you are maxed out on the roller as you said, the linkage is NOT alright. Being hooked up right is one thing. Being adjusted correctly is quite another. This is not a simple procedure and is far too detailed to go into here. The process is generally called "link&sync" which synchronizes throttle opening with ignitiion advance. You MUST start this procedure at the very beginning and work through to the end. Starting in the middle with one adjustment just screws up everything else. If you get the idea you need a service manual for your engine you would be correct. Check your library.
