Hello all....I have had a 1969 StarCraft Ss175v for about a year. Ran great last year, this year can't seem to get it to start. It has an OMC HU15s engine. Battery is fine, engine turns over just won't fire. Found a broken distributor wire..replaced all of the wires and spark plugs. Still turns over just won't start. Gas is new and has been treated. Any advice of what to do next? Does anyone know where I can get an engine manual/ schematic? And also looking for a wiring diagram if possible. Thanks for any and all help.

On the tilt: check your battery charge. If it's full, then it's possible you need to clean / rebuild the tilt motor. Lube for the clutch pack is a possible problem, but I would guess even after draining it and filling it (lower port side of the stern drive) that won't make a huge difference.

Talked to a marina and the gentleman said change to an electronic ignition and rebuilt or replace the carbarateur. Thoughts?

Loosen the 4 mounting bolts that mount the drive to the intermediate housing. Pump some grease in the fittings then retighten the bolts. Do the checks mentioned in the previous posts. Especially the ignition system.
the point should set at .016-.018.
OMC tilt motor# Sierra Marine, 18-6754
The points and condenser are Delco General Motors points used in GM products thru the 60s & 70s.
You have a V6 Buick engine. 155 hp

I personally wouldn't change to electronic ignition. I've heard too many troubles with those conversions, and honestly the boat (and cars) I've worked fine on points. Servicing, cleaning, rebuilding the carb usually never hurts.

Any chance you can tell me the distributor wiring order for this engine?

. 165432 clockwise. Google 1966 Buick V6 firing order, a picture will appear which should help. Has some one tried to get it running before?
FRom the picture you posted it looks like the wires are in the wrong position.

In the picture you posted #5&#2 are reversed. That is why the google picture looks different.
135 are on the port and 246 starboard.
