1969 Evinrude 9.9 model 9622-A help

I can't figure out how to tilt the motor down. Something is wrong? Trying to find a manual could someone kindly help me? Thank you in advance

I’m not familiar with your exact model but in general tilt the motor all the back release the lever on the side and lower it down gently.

the motor is Evinrude 9.9 sport twin 1969 vintage. Something is happening. I have all manuals ordered off eBay. Someone must have one they are still popular. Thank you for responding.

Tims correct, before it can go down it has to come up....

If that's not working then it's jammed up. No book is going to help.

You could try loosening the two nuts on the tilt tube and see if that helps.
