Hey,

I was having trouble starting this when it was hot. I got the flywheel off to prepare for a tune up and everything looks really clean. It looks like the entire system is in good shape and all the components look very new. Does anybody have any pictures or discription of what a bad coil, condensor and point look look like? I am beginning to to think that I my problem is the carberator. My first round of problems stemmed from a dirty carb. When I cleaned it, I didnt replace any of the packings. I ordered a carb kit and plan to do it the right way.

I also thought this engine could be over heating, but water seems to be comming out of the port. Could there be a lack of water? Low flow?

Have you checked the spark when it wouldn't start hot?
You need to check it when it is hard to start, spark should jump a 1/4" air gap and be bright blue.
You might check a local marina and see if they have a coil tester, maybe they can check and see if the coils are firing properly.
