I hope I never have to test it. I don't think I want my insurance to see this

Splashdown July 19, 2011.

The best part is that I got to use it this summer on my vacation to Lake St-John, QC, Canada

You've done a lot of work on that thing, looks great, you deserve a vacation. To go advanced, hit reply as to send a message, and then go advanced, as you have to to send pics the way you do. After that you're on your own. It seems easier to me to just do it like you do, and I don't have to upload everything. I have satellite and only so much bandwidth I can use. I joined Photobucket, and uploaded a few, and it didn't work, so went back to the old way. I'm not too computer literate, and it takes awhile to learn new ways.

I recognize the GPS mount attached to the window in your last picture. If I'm not mistaken, isn't that a Ram mount for a Cobra 1000? That is what I use on my '66 Holiday.

It's a Ram that I use for my Garmin 76 CSx. How fast does your rig go?

Thanks. I'm very happy with my vacation boat. It's funny but I don't get sea sick on a lake even with huge waves in a storm but as soon as I go on the ocean with moderate swell I get really
sick.
Next time on the ocean, I'm trying ginger pills. It's the only thing that's supposed to work according to Myth Busters.

I had no experience fixing boats or fixing anything for that matter.
I don't know much but most of what I know about aluminum boats I learned it by reading this site
You guys inspired gave me confidence that I could do it.
I have you guys (Starcraft/Iboat community) to thank. I could not have done this without you.

How fast does your rig go?

Not nearly as fast as I'd hoped. With a 12.5 x 16 prop, I've done a best of 32mph @ 5500rpm. Might try a higher pitch if I can find one cheap enough. I think this O/B is starting to get a little tired. I expected upper 30's with this light of a boat.

Looks like you are pushing a lot of water. Pitch and trim sound likley the problem. Do you have T/T with the motor?

That's about the same as my holiday jet does, only it's a bit bigger. Also has a 350 inboard in it that should be maybe 250 hp. Oh, Ed I may have a way figured out to add something to work like a trim on mine. A place diverter. Talking to a guy now who might give it to me if I take him fishing on the Snake.. May be a good trade. Let's see, free parts, fishing trip in a new area for a week with splitting the costs. Haven't figured out what my part of the trade is yet.

I have the manual tilt/trim on the old Evinrude. Electric would be nice, but that will come with my re-power in spring.

Nice boat! I like the idea of using the plascore for the side panels. I should have checked out your thread before making mine out of plywood.

I got 44 mph on the gps but it was a little hairy. I have ordered Nauticus trim tabs. I'm hoping it will stop the porpoising and help stabilize the boat so that I can trim it better and possibly get 47 or 48 mph. My prop is an aluminum "Turning Point Hustler with 21 pitch" If I want more speed I can go with a 23 pitch.
