Re: 1968 Lynn/Craft Seabreeze Rebuild

After I got the stringers bedded in I put a layer of 1708 on the hull and up the sides of the stringers. Then I bedded in the bulkheads and put another layer of 1708 on the hull and up the sides of the bulkheads and stringers.

Finally I glued the cleats using peanut butter along the top edge of the stringers and bulkheads. I'm now going to lay a strip of 1708 along the top and down the sides of the cleats. Once that's finished I think I'll be ready to put the floor in.Copy of Boat.jpgCopy of Boat 001.jpgCopy of Boat 004.jpgCopy of Boat 005.jpg

Well, I've gotten a little more accomplished. I finished up the stringers and bulkheads, cut and sealed the deck and am in the process of laying it in. Here's the stringers.Boat 007.jpgBoat 005.jpg

I finally got the last piece of the deck set in. With a little sanding I'll be ready to lay in a lay down a layer of 1708. I'm still debating whether or not to screw it down with 2 inch ss wood screws before I lay down the glass. I think I will and probably seal them with some 3m 4200, or something. Don't know yet. Here's the last piece. Soon I'll start getting the cap ready to put back on. Once that's done I'l have to figure out a way to flip the boat over and work on the bottom. I've seen some interesting procedures here.

Great balls of fire, I finally got the deck in with a layer of 1708. I've roughed it up with some 80 grit paper and am now ready to do a little work on the cap before I put it back on. I hope I didn't make a mistake. I used 2 inch 305 stainless to screw the deck to the stringers. I encased them with epoxy, so I think they'll be ok.Boat 026.jpgBoat 025.jpg
