1968 3 cylinder 55HP Evinrude will idle fine when you rev it up the rpms drop off and it revs back up. It will do this until you idle back down. Checked gas filter, coil, plugs, rotor and cap, and wiring.

Are you talking about on a boat in the lake or are you talking about in your driveway? It was designed to be run on a boat, not revved up in the driveway. Please clarify.
