I am buying a 67 falcon this coming week and would like to know where to get a bimini top that would attach to the windshield. The owner has told me that the boat has the original forward/backward bench seat. He said the seat is still solid but has some cracks in the vinyl. I might want to refinish. Any ideas on where to get either item done?

I know iboats sells bimini tops, not sure if they attach to the windshield though. On the seats I was going to get my 2 back to back loungers redone I got a quote at a reupholstering place, and they wanted $1,200. Bought 2 new ones for $200 each from walmart.com

If you want a boat cover that will likely be a custom job for your local tent/awning/upholstery guy.

Otherwise you'll need to go Bimini.

Great pricing on seats:

Bimini tops do not typically attach to the windshield

The tops that do, are called convertible tops

Also I think there are some "universal" options available, convertible tops are generally a custom job done by your local canvas shop.

Great looking Falcon!

Look for a local upholstery shop, or do the re-vinyl yourself.. Hows the plywood deck & transom? They're probably 66+yrs old too.

The plywood looks good. The previous owner said both were replaced about 2 years ago.

love that orange!
and welcome to the mob.

ignore Odyssey, he's just mad that he didn't get born 2000 miles further south. :D but maybe if we keep dropping hints, he'll go buy another one that he can paint up in General Lee colors. guess it will have to be a cabin boat, tho, for the flag on roof.

there was an older starcraft aluminum cabinboat . looked about 18-20 ft. It was 10 miles down the road from me. They had 1500 obo. It was too big for my car to pull so i didn't even stop to look. Maybe he can come and get it from NH.

what would be the best sealant to use when mounting the depth finder transducer? Is there a marine grade silicon? I just want to make sure the screw holes won't leak.

Hey pb, great looking Falcon. 3M 4200 marine sealant is the one I would use.

+1 on that! I find 5200 takes a longer time to cure and run's a lot more --- especially on vertical surfaces.

Re: 1967 starcraft falcon 14ft.

does anyone know what the center cap looks like for the steering wheel on a 67 falcon? I have seen pictures of a few but they aren't close enough to see very well. Mine was missing when I bought the boat.

Are you sure that's the factory steering wheel? I have a '68 falcon and mine is black with 3 spoke design.
