I have the above motor and noticed that the "throttle arm?" that controls speed is a bit tight and gives you a good work out after a day of crabbing wit the starts and stops. I greased the teeth at the back of the arm and it didn't seem to loosen it up at all. I was wondering if there is a way to do this, or is it suppose to be a bit snug. This is my first one and have nothing to compare it to. This thing is a work horse and even when cold starts usually first pull.

Thanks!

It is the mag plate that's hard to turn or the throttle handle, you need to determine first which one is causing the issue?

Probably a long shot......but I had the same problem on an old 15HP Johnson I have. The little metal plate with the "STOP...SLOW...SHIFT...START...FAST" on it was loose and was binding when I tried to twist the throttle. I just put a locking wire tie around it and it has worked fine ever since. I seem to remember somebody else saying something about another more correct fix in another post but I think you had to remove the rubber grip.

Disconnect the arm from the mag plate then check the tiller and the mag plate for binding/resistance.

If it is the tiller handle, it is a two-piece design. You can remove it, take it apart, clean it and grease it. They can get pretty cruddy, but as said already...check both the tiller handle and the mag/throttle advance plate.
