Does your carburetor have an asembly at the bottom (HS) jet that looks like this?

I have this "accessory" installed in one of my 6 HP E'Rudes. Converts a fixed HS jet to an adjustable one.

there should be no way for fuel to flood the engine if the float is set correctly and floating, and the float needle is seating properly. ( the above exploded view(s) arent identical to your carb (s), but its close enough to show you whats what)

In thinking baout that "LS" quote.... I assume you meant that to indicate "Low Speed". The correct abbreviation would be S/S standing for Slow Speed. No intention of slamming you in any manner, just stating how it's always been since day one. Anything other than normal to many of us just goes over our heads.

If your carburetor has the accessory adjustable high speed needle valve setup, personally I'd remove it and install the proper brass H/S jet.

Hi again, Joe ! Thx for that. OK---right off---sorry ! I'm the hack who called it a LS---should have called it SS ! (slow speed)
That above pic about looks pretty much EXACTLY like my carb ! HOWEVER--I AM missing part #50 ! (50, 51 & 52 is the HS adjustment--correct ?)
All I have THERE is a threaded 'bolt'. It LOOKS original---but sheesh--if I'm missing that part #50---Maybe THAT is culprit ! LOL

Sorry again--I have 'mixed up' calling the HS JET (#41) with SS (idle adjustment needle valve #37)
I haven't pulled out the brass HS jet in 2 days; maybe I'll do that today ! Think I'll try adjusting that float again !

I 'bent' the float (a little) yesterday; and it SEEMS to not flood now; but last time it ran (yesterday); it would only run when I pull the choke open & close, open & close, etc. From all your great info--I'm going to assume it still isn't getting enuff gas (now); as it DID run beauty for the first time in prob 30 years yesterday morning---albeit for only 1--2 mins !

Hi Chuck---no it doesn't BUT I the one 'bolt' I DO have (and that's ALL I have) looks like #2. BUT it is NOT hollow (to fit #1 & 3 !)

Wanted to comment on this post too Joe ! You are right (again)---that's what I meant ! (LS=S/S)
The only 'needle valve' I have is the S/S idle adjustment valve--#37 in your pic. As mentioned to Chuck on his post; the H/S---the one 'bolt' I DO have (and that's ALL I have) looks like #2. BUT it is NOT hollow (to fit #1 & 3 !)---as referring to Chucks pic.

JOE ! Fan-freakin'-tass-tic news ! (for me, anyway !) I GOT it ! It's humming like a little blender ! Time to make a mar-garr-rita with it !
It's been running now for 5--10 mins ! One thing that occured to me---it said on the front plate: 'Choke as needed'--well...!....I opened the choke just a crack; and it starts & STAYS running !
I adjusted the float---guess that was the prob ! Joe; it says on the front 'plate' 50:1 gas---that's what to follow---right ? I thought you mentioned 24:1.
also; do you know where to grease it ? (the grease nipples--I mean)
I want to make the throttle smooth; and the way it turns around (for reverse / forward)
I wanna clean this baby up & make it look brand new !
Thank you SO much for your help, Joe ! If/when I get up to that bass lake; I'm gonna (try) to get some bass smoked & send you some ! hahahaa

Man---I put a lot of hrs in on this thing---all worth it !
