If a homemade gas tank sits higher than the carb mounted on the side of the motor can you run a gas line straight to the carb. Or do I have to run the line to the bottom gas fitting then front the top gas fitting to the carb. I’m guessing it’s some sort of fuel pump and if anyone knows how they work can you explain.

My old Sears (mid 70's) outboard was made by Eska. The fuel pump was a small balloon-like thing that sat in a passage in the intake manifold, under the carb. The crankcase pressure filled and emptied the balloon to pump fuel to the carb.

Be sure the fuel bulb is oriented to 2:00, for proper function. Webekin
