Finished wiring the NOS OMC ignition switch , lights and horn. I made some jumpers and put a fuse in the starter box and used a couple of wires in the ignition harness that would originally have been used for a boat with an alternator to get power and ground up to the dash. Here's a quick before and after of the dash etc...http:// http:// http://

Now just waiting on new cables and some NOS connector sleeves that I snagged off ebay. I thought I could make the old ones work, but they were just too deteriorated. Another learning experience as I had never really looked at how the cables are connected to the control box racks etc...To say that I have learned a lot from this forum is a drastic understatement!:yo:
Thanks

Did you do any interior work?

I'll say you did, Dale. She looks good!

So I have been waiting to post last weekends SPLASH pics in hopes that the weather would cooperate and we could take her back out in more picturesque conditions, but it has rained here in central MO nearly every day! Including today. So the river is a muddy mess and I am forced to post the pics we got last weekend.
She would only run at about half throttle under load in the muddy Gasconade River, so I know I have to adjust the high end needle on the carb (which I did with the test barrel when we got back home).
There was only one witness beside myself and my son, An old timer who waited in his truck and watched us tool around. He told us what a trip down memory lane he was having the whole time. http://

Well there you go, I never would have finished(or even started) without the help of the great people of this forum. Especially how to get the Lark to run, when I didn't even have a harness for her etc...
Thank you ALL!

Glad to see her splashed. Sorry you had carb issues but I'm sure you will get her running good.

You did an exceptional job on her, and I'm floored at how good she turned out. She is a beautiful craft, and should stir the memories of many old timers while making many new ones for you and your family.

Great Job!:encouragement:

Glad the carb problem didn't ruin your trip on the river. She sure is a shining jewel you have there! Be sure to get her in the completed splashed 2016 SC section too. SOTY awards will be here before we know it. :)

Wonderful restoration. I had missed most of this project write up and went back to the beginning and read it all. I really love these 50's boats, and it's great to see one done so nicely. I have that same red/white Attwood steering wheel on my '57 Fleetcraft, and the wood front seat back and pocket design in mahogany is nearly identical. The bow light is the same too. I really like the fact it had oarlocks. Who needs an auxiliary motor? Have fun, you deserve it.

Thank you ALL for the thumbs up, etc... It is what is so great about this forum-it is a real motivator to GET OFF MY COUCH, stick with it, and do something creative with your mind. Hope the next guy can now find some more info on a 1959 StarCraft!
I would like to post a few befores and afters from the same perspective at some time- but headed out of town before I will get that done.

Excellent work

Good luck, it'll now take 3X as long to gas up while towing. Should attract a crowd on the trailer or on the water.

Boat looks great! I really dig the wood seats and rub rails. Congrats on finishing it off, it takes more time/dedication then most would realize. That bow anchor rig is something else, looks handy as heck and adds some good classy character to the bow.... a hood ornament that is both form and function.
