1959 F1 Kildonan Fiberglass 12 Foot

I have an old boat thatI just picked up for my son and I. He is 4yrs old and I am a first time boater. It is a Kildonan Canoe Company 1959 F1 12 Foot Fiberglass. Rated at 650lbs and 10hp max. I want to do a fishing boat project with a casting deck and storage space. I am going for cost effectiveness,as I am a single father and this needs to be light and sturdy. Ideas of where to begin and where to end up, will be greatly appreciated.

I can tell you that the Kildonan canoe Co. operated in Winnipeg, MB, Canada from about 1968 to 1985. It applied for Trade Mark registration in 1968, was granted status in 1970, and was deregistered in 1985. Not much other information is known aside from production of boats, runabouts, canoes, etc.
