I have recently become the owner of what (I am fairly certain) is a 1957 Elgin.
This boat was last in the water 20 years ago. At that time, it did float and the engine did run. It has spent the last 20 years in a carport.
I am beginning to explore my options of whether to try to restore or sell this boat.
I've included a link to pictures of the boat below and I would very much welcome any observations, suggestions, warnings or admonitions you may have.

It appears to all be there, good or bad. the keel shot is a concern, it appears to be separating some. Hard to tell if it's fiberglass or wood on the hull of the boat. Still a cool looking old boat, and a nice vintage outboard. Really hard to tell if it's a fixer upper, or a parts boat. The parts may be worth as much as the boat, old windshields are rare finds, as an example.

Why does a man restore a boat ?
The same reason he climbs a mountain ..
Because it's there ! :)
Would be hard for me to not want to restore it but it does look like quite a bit of work . She would sure turn some heads at the ramp !
