Hey all, I'm brand new to the forum and looking forward to a couple of outboard restoration projects with help from y'all, and hope I can help in return.
I recently picked up a 1956 "Goodyear" (Gale) 12 hp motor. Model #225-3609
(12D13G). I need a manual and something that lists out part numbers. I was able to view a diagram but no actual part numbers.
I'm sure I'll need a carb kit and water pump impeller. The motor is complete and in good condition. It's just been sitting up for decades. I've spent hours on the internet looking for the resources I need but get frustrated at the lack of real useful information.
my second project is a 1946 Evinrude
5.4 hp, #4044, 4 cylinder. Same story on it as far as parts, manual, info, etc. do I need to post the Evinrude question to the Johnson forum?
Thank you in advance and glad to be here.

you are going to need coils for that old motor as well as a crank seal.

remember, this motor is a 24:1

if you use the search function, there are many threads on the gale 12hp.
