Hey guys I started a thread over at John's Old merc site. Check it out.
http://johnsoldmercurysite.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=351

Im slowly working on this motor but I thought I would branch out and see If you guys have any input. Specifically about my leak around the spark plugs. This leak is not from the water jacket but from the combustion chamber due to grooves/wear around the plug. See pic please.

How can I fix this? 3 ideas for you to ponder, if you have others please share I need help and this is a set back right now.

1) Clean JB weld job or marine-tex.

2)Oversized seal or washer of some sort to go around the plug and extend past the
groove/wear part to provide a good seal.

3)Aluminium welder

Other pic is an idea ( number 2) Im thinking of trying. I want to get a thin washer and of soft metal material the same strength of the seal that comes on a sparkplug so it has some 'give' to form a good seal but extend further than the original seal that come on a spark plug. And get past the damaged part of the surface.
