Alright old motor guys, I'd appreciate if you would chime in.
Simple enough question... Would a TD20 carburetor fit a TN28? (they look amazingly similar) annnnd I would think that a TN27 carb would also fit...

And I know Lloyd is floating around here, if I could get his contact info for some of those leather primer washers that would be great! thanks!

the repair manual says there are 3 different types of the type 1 carb that went on those. the chokes are different and apparently the float bowl. These carbs were used from 57 to 64 up to the 28hp motors. dont know if that helps or not:facepalm:

TN / TD carburetors are totally different and have a primer system and a seperate slow speed mixing needle, thus no choke like carburetors in 57 to 64 motors.----TN models have a nuetral clutch.-TD models may be direct drive.----Carburetor would be similar between the 2 models.

Thanks, guys. I think it'll be worth $10 for the carb even if it doesn't fit. I DO have a TD20, after all...

Ok you can swap the carb between them.

Some of the TNS have different throttle linkage rods from the magneto, but carbs are interchangeable.

Thanks for the definitive answer, Chris! I just popped the LU off and WHEW. I thought the newer oil stunk!
