1948 FD??

Just purchased FD & trailer.
Emailed Alumacraft about year of manufacture and customer service replied that my model ID FD 1906 indicates it was manufactured in 1948, as indicated by company hand-written documentation.
I've read many threads on this site and not seen any FDs that early and noted multiple references to them starting in the 50s.
I am suspicious of the accuracy of the customer service info, so I have written again to confirm the date.
Is it possible Alumacraft produced FDs in 1948?
Also, any idea on manufacturer of trailer?

Alumacraft knows I would say. Very few companies would have that information, let alone bother to give it to you. Alumacraft is one of the few companies that will.. They must have had at least proof that production went back to 1947 for that hand written document to be made

You are correct. The incorrect information was supplied in the previous email. Your boat would have been a 1955

Well I find this very interesting. My # is FD14270 Alumacraft told me it is a 1967 model. So that's what I am going with. Now any help with the specs would be great! Maybe it can help someone in the future. Or not lol. Still a good ole boat
