Well here is our family cruiser. I acquired her from an elder that decided not to attempt restoring her. She came with a box full of new parts and accessories. I am a beginner so please be patient with my progress.

The power-plant is a clean 1974 V4 Johnny 115 hp with manual tilt..Yes the hood does say 90hp, but the 115 hood was beyond repair so I am waiting on the proper decals to dress her accurately.
The engine fired up immediately and purred like a kitten and the deck and hull looked promising so the Admiral gave me the OK to purchase it.

The PO was unsure of the year and this is the only ID tag I could find on her.

So I got her to fit in our garage for the winter.. No heat has hindered the progress so it is a slow go.. I borrowed a close friends cherry picker to remove the engine and store it.. He has also lent me all the power and hand tools I have needed so far...I have managed to remove the transom and replace with solid white oak.

The transom was quite a task to loosen and remove, but with lots of sweat and coffee breaks, I finally got her out. The transom had some slight rot on the starboard corner as did the corner piece on same side. The rest of the wood was saturated and was ready for replacement.

these 2 photos are of the transom and the teak transom saver plate..There are many hours of prep and finishing to get them to this state. I decided to go with the infamous Spar Varnish for a super high gloss finish..everyone loves the finish as do I...

Welcome to the Tin-ness, Billy. No pics in the last two posts. She looks clean. I can't read the serial number, what are the two leading digits? Some years of SCs have the model year as the first two numbers of the serial number. Have fun! :D

Thank you G A...sorry bout the last 2 posts I do have a couple of close-up pics from the finished transom that show the tag info a bit clearer.

I think the 19?? Holiday can be called a 1964 Holiday. It looks like you have the hatch on the bow and here is a link to the '64 brochure showing the Holiday with the hatch. 1964.5 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

yes I also thought that per the first 2 digits of the serial#...The flat bottom stern also steered me towards the 60's as most early 70's I have seen are all "V" at the transom...

Thanx jigngrub...I was thinking that the windshield may have been round 1 piece back in '64, but I guess not
