Way too hot a 214 F

Was there any water being discharged out the Idle Relief?

Well water boils at 212 so that’s not good.
I think 130 or so is a happy temp

Tons of water coming out, was told the thermostat should be a 118 degree

Agreed----With no thermostat it should run cooler.----Is the 160 at idle or full throttle on a boat.----Or in a tub with water at least 6" above the impeller ?

Was this motor used in Salt Water, very muddy Water, prop churning the bottom?
