I have a 2000 Tuffy Osprey 18' deep v fiberglass boat. Had a 150hp mercy on it, engine threw a rod and trashed it. When I pulled the motor to replace with a 115 evinrude for now I noticed the glass was splitting from the wood. The exterior glass is firmly attached to the wood transom, the interior glass has separated from the wood though. Before I pulled the motor I stood in the cavitation plate and had very little movement on the transom. When I pulled motor I Noticed the plastic guard screws pulled out, when I went to resilicone it I noticed the split transom. Took a screwdriver and the outside glass solid, top wood solid partial chipping from where it is split from the glass but no rot, interior glass solid. Will it be okay to silicone the top put the plastic guard on and mount the motor. Or do i need to do further repairs before mounting a 115hp evinrude. Having issues uploading pictures will have to get them on my computer then on the forum.
