WELL I drove to Lincoln city Oregon and picked up the 16 s/S. Were the photos not revaling or what. This is one abused hummer. Very dirty weather worn. The seats mabey 2 can be used. Prob. will go to Pedistal seats. the floor is marginal and I just may finally have to remove and replace. +All vinal sad. Paint? three or four different colors and most peeling off in sheets. I will power the he-- out of the boat and then see what I Have. I had to put on new bvearings, New tires and portable taillights which I NOW Own. Trailer completly rusted but solid so I brought it home The purchase price was 800 which after I had already paid Wuld have offered 200-300 at the most. I said earlier how ugly my wife said she thought it was. WellS--- guess she had the better eye. And I did not need a different boat. HOWEVER there was a complete set of top ,,back and bow, cover with the boat .Weathered but a little care and a dryer trip at real low heat and it should limber up. How about a update 800-109 tires-50 lights-24bearings- and oh yes Gas 45 gallon @ 3. 130 gas and 2 days oh 1 hotel bill 60total thats 1160 and I havent even checket out the motor it seens ok tho was rebuilt 1997 and has low hours and turns over. Also I havent even washed the wonderfull addition yet. Hey the Ocean was beautiful tho. The boat was stored outside 50 feet from the salt water. Am I smart or what. I will take a few photos and try to sent them next week

Hay Pugetsound! Congrats on your new boat!! Listen.... buyers remorse is the strongest in the first 24 - 48 hrs. After that you will adjust to your new purchase and appreciate her for what she is.... a great boat with great potential! Just put one foot in front of the other and bring that boat home and clean her up. Remember, it's not like you had to gamble the farm on her so in a month from now you won't even miss the dollars you've spent so far. Post some pics when you get her home and I will try to do the same with mine tommorrow... if it's not raining too hard. Don't sweat it, it's only money!http://forums.iboats.com/images/icons/icon6.gif

Well seats are out, sidepanels and such. The seats came put easy as all the wood was mush. . I will use the vinal from the bases for the new bow panneling. , The floor you can walk on it but soft, so out it will go . Looks so easy even a cave man could do itt. the old ugly paint may cobe off easy and a little red on thr rails. The origional is under it ans looks to be ok. all the surface paint comes of fairly well with a plastic scrapper. Removed all the bow wood as it was gone. I wil replace the area for side seats and a post in yte floor for new seat. I am sure I will just add seats up front on pedistals like the ones on the list.

Puget, everything short of massive corrosion is fixable on these Starcrafts. I'm sure it's not too bad. Have you started a project thread?

Pugetsound, it sound like you wanted another project anyhow. If it is that bad at least you know you have to start from the shell and work up, no surprizes later.
And we do have a Threefer, Hat-trick, or Grand slam. Brother called, said it runs good, 1982 Evenrude 115 with t/t, compression is 110,110,110,and 116 transom and floor seem real solid and he said even the bottom of the boat hardly has any scratchs.
Just my luck, I pay the learning taxs for the younger brother by telling him to buy a boat in the US to save money after I overpay in Canada. I could have got two of his deal for what I payed for mine!!!!

Re: 16' SS ad on CL - is this a fair price?

Just trying different paint remover. The Aircraft paint remover works well like the old striplac use to do. The old paint will come off and and repaint will be the big job. The rest is almost easy . I started removeing all deck hardware and then decided to see if this puppy will run. Cleaned all cables put in a good battery pulled the Spark pklugs and all looked ok,very clean. Had no fuel line as my 22 is hard wired to floor tank. Decided to just give each cyl a short burst of starter fliud and see if it would even fire but not to run without water. WELL did not even turn over completly before it fired right off. Note in the hood says it was comp. rebuit in 95 then hasen't been ran since. I have a problem with the steering cable ,its bound up in the motor tube and try as I may its still frozen. Heated well with a torch and then a sledge hammer.- wont budge. Any Ideas??? Oh well more tomorrow photos will be posted when I get enough done to make sense.
