15 hp Mariner not starting!!

I just purchased a 15 hp Mariner and cannot get it to start. I put some new plugs in and gave it about 15 pulls. Everything went fine, but I seemed like I was not getting a spark. In gear, the lower unit spins when the cord is pulled so it is not froze up. I pulled the plug and held it against the engine to check for a spark when the cord was pulled and saw nothing. I know this is an awesome motor and would love to solve this problem asap. If anyone has some advice, please help me!!! Thank You, Dan

Simple question does your boat have a kill switch? Also i have seen in a different post that someone mentioned a website that you could download (for free) a troubleshooting guide for ignition problems, maybe your engine is covered and this would help. There is a link on the website named downloads. cdielectronics.com

It had a push button kill on it, I replaced it with a toggle now so I know it is off or on for sure. I will try the trouble shooting guide. Thank You!!!!
