15 hp chrysler float spring

Can anybody here tell me how to put the float spring back on my 1983 15 hp Chrysler carb correctly? long tab to the float or short tab to the float? & does the tab on the carb body connect on the inside of the lip or the outside? Rob

my manual has a crappy pic but the long piece goes behind the float and short piece goes to top
