14ft Jon boat tiller to steering

I have have a 14ft Jon boat with a 25hp Johnson tiller and I would to convert to steering. Any thoughts, how difficult, how expensive etc? Thanks.

you need remote controls, and steering system. i suggest ezy glide stick steering. http://www.iboats.com/Boat_Parts_Ac...e--search_in_category.f--**********.341359363

I got the part of the stick steering,but what about controls? Can all tillers be converted? Thanks.

At least almost all anyway. Nothing needs to be done with the tiller, just leave it on. Depending on what motor you have it might have a friction plug in the twist grip. Removing the plug will make it work easier with remote controls.

Thanks, because I have the boat posted for sale because of the tiller steer. What price is average for a converion either by owner or by shop? Ball park figure if anyone knows?

controls 200 -300, stick steer 400, labor at shop. 300.

Thanks, that's not too bad of a price. Is it difficult do it yourself project?
