And it doubles as an anchor!:embarassed:
I used to use that piece of railroad track as an anvil until I got a real anvil.

Good night and that's 3/4" ply too! Sounds like a commercial for The Duluth Trading Co

photo290107.jpg Grabbed the yak and took a couple of hours off the boat remodel. A few pannies for the effort.

I hit the boat hard today, with little to show in the way of progress.
Modded a couple of rod holders similar to monmouth00's, worked on a couple of vents to cover the areas on both sides of the bench seats for fuel vapor ventilation, ground off WM's favorite piece of rotted plywood at the old steering station, ground off the AL tabs where the old seats used to be and started making a pattern for the bow area raised deck. Placed the new cleats where they will be installed just to see how they will look, and started cutting some carpet.

Have a slow internet signal today, pics may not load. Worked on the raised bow deck today, did not come out as good as I would have liked, the two sides we're not symmetrical so I had double the work there. All bulkheads I am installing have built in limber holes to promote drainage from bow to transom, just like the under deck ribs have. Will give the pics another shot later.

Click image for larger version Name: Views:	1 Size:	167.3 KB ID:	10570761 First try at a vent for the rear bench seat, need a few more hole saws to have each hole an ascending or descending size.
thought some type of vent would look better than just an open gap on both ends of the bench.

Interesting vent configuration! Are you going to cover it with a light fabric or something?

Maybe some wire screen or hardware cloth on the inside, just have to figure out what will not restrict air too much and still keep bees and wasps out.

What about window screen material?
Might be too flimsy, but it'll allow air, and keep bees/wasps out.. lol

Screens will just plug up, the best way to do a drain and know that it will drain is an actual drain. Iboats drains in the link below, you'll have to scroll through the searches as there's some that are not what you need.

In my cabin of the Chief I have a regular 1" splashwell drain tube in the aft end of the deck. Nothing will plug it up and you can see if it's covered up.

He's talking about an air vent, I think

That is correct, I'm trying to create some positive airflow when the boat is moving through the front of the rear bench and can exit out the cable holes in the splash well for the times I have the portable fuel tank in the under bench and under splash well areas.

My HF trip for a compressor was a bust, I read the fine print on the super coupon and compressors we're not included. So, I went to the two big box stores and checked out their compressors and then went to my local tractor supply and purchased a 24 gal compressor there that was on sale. Not a loss, and I actually like the way this one is constructed better than the others I looked at.
BWR1953, I hope my spraying results look at least half as good as yours!

Ok, I read this and limber holes mean for water in my mind anyway

Similar answer then use a vent grate with screen sandwiched between the wood and the grate. Something like this.
