This is my 14 ft aluminum boat

As you see its in ok shape now this is not how I got it, this is what I made it into during the summer for some fishing now its winter time Im gonna totaly redo the inside, Ive already painted the trailer and boat I plan to replace the tires and rims, put some guide ons on it, beleive it or not its hard to put this boat on a tailer by myself this summer was the first summer in the last 2 years that I went out by myself and it was hard, over winter it already has new lights and wires that I put on not to long ago and also a new ball coupler on it, Ive also put all new hardware and carpet on the trailer besides a couple things. I plan to put a whole different floor system in it, Im posting up here so I know lots of you have great ideas and I want input on some things so feel free to reply with ideas

These pics I skipped a couple I had pics of the tear down but dont know where they went you can see my decsion on the front bow, I planned to put steering back in this boat but the more I thought about it tiller is just fine for me so basically the rear floor there will all be taken out and redone again Ill try and keep up to date pics and info on it

WOW!!! I'd strongly recommend that you not use OSB Strand board the next time. It is a terrible wood to use in a boat. Also there is really no need for 2x4 construction either. 1x4 or 2x2 would be more thand adequate. What ever you do, make sure and NOT use pressure treated lumber. It WILL eat your aluminum boat.

Ok you know theres no hurtfull coments on this just looking for inputs and ideas never redone a boat before so all helpfull hints and ideas will work plus I gotta pull out that osb anyways and if you think 2X4s are over kill the I took the old floor out and the guy before me had 4X4s under the floor

OMG!!! Well weight is always your enemy when you are making mod's to your boat. If you can afford it, using aluminum angle is the optimum material for making deck supports. 1/2" ACX Ply coated with epoxy is your best bet for decking. I like MDO ply but it is a bit more pricey, but really great stuff to work with and already resin coated.

Whats the difference when you use osb compared to ply, you said the osb would be a bad choice Im just currious what the difference is

OSB does not use waterproof glue in it's construction and if water penetrates into it, it will swell up like an insulted mother in law

Ok, you sound like you have more experiance doing this than me, I have one more question for you, now when its ready for carpet just because Ive been thinking of this for awhile, what type of glue would you use? And if you have any other helpful info dont be afraid to tell me

Well I seen someone on here with a 14ft lund that I liked how it looked but then I would have to figure out some sort of steering system on it or I could keep with my tiller, kinda undecided thats why the project is at a stand still till I can figure something out what would be your opinion to do
