Re: 14 foot gamefisher rebuild

Out with the old, in with the new! The old johnson 15 just wasnt cutting it, WOT and it would just begin to plane off with 3 people. Put a new 25 Yamaha 2 stroke and it FLIES, still in break in period, but half throttle (per owners manual for two hours) was more than enough for two people, did 25MPH easy. Very happy with the fit and finish of everything. still waiting on the bench cushions. Landed some Stripers tonight as well. Just in time for the season.

Sweet! You should break 30 mph once you get a chance to open her up. Hold in tight!!!

Very nice. I have a Gamefisher that my son and I are turning into a duck hunting boat so we can access some coves off the river. We just finished up painting her camouflage last weekend and are working on the '73 Evinrude 18hp. Can't wait to get her running and hit the water with her.

Love the Gamefisher for its stability and room for guns, decoys, dog and kid. It's a great boat.

Again, great job. It looks superb.

Seats installed. Have been having a blast with it lately. Fluke, striped bass, bluefish. Sipping gas. 3 Gallon tank is a whole day of cruising.

Not a banner day. But a great day of fishing.

She looks great on the water! I love the snap in/out seat cushions. Very clever.

I just want to say once again you've done a great job on this boat. I have the exact same boat and put a lot of time into it, but yours puts mine to shame!

here's a video of mine going down the river . . . it's mostly to show the outboard shimmed but you get an idea of the boat layout, too:

What did you use for that black rubber cover on the lip of the outside overbite?

Not sure I know what you mean? Black rubber cover on the lip of the outside overbite?

The rub rail? Its Taco standard vinyl rub rail. Ebay. I think it was 1.25"

Hold on to that motor too. It'll be worth its weight in gold soon. I'd love to find a late-model Yammy 30-40 hp 2-stroke. I think that would be too much motor for my little boat, but it sure would be fun.....
