Okay I moved your post so you are not shirt-tailing or hijacking someone else's post. and I am going to merge it into your first post.

We try to keep peoples restorations in one post.

Re: How much Gluvit

Yup 1 2lb can of gluvit will do your entire boat ;) Apply it to the seams and around the rivet heads. It "flows" so tilt the hull left and do that side and the next day tilt it right and do that side. You want the gluvit to flow into the seams. So get a 2 lb can and 2 cheap small paint brushes and have at it. Be sure to read the directions and mix it exact. DO NOT try extra hardener to speed things up because it will not work and weaken the product.

Re: How much Gluvit

I just ordered 2lbs of the Glvit from Iboats.

I have used steel wire wheels to grind, or scuff up the paint. If I post a pic, could you experts tell me if this is good enough to start applying the Gluvit?

Thanks again. I wouldn't know what to do without your help.

Re: 14' Aluminum boat question.

Hi, first time posting here.

I tried to do a search, but I couldn't find any answers.

I am finishing a 1970 14' Crestliner Aluminum row boat. The boat's information tag is gone.

The exact measurements are length 13' 8" Widest point is 58" transom is 16" deep, front is 26" deep

I am trying to find out what size gas motor I can put on it, and what the max weight capacity is for the boat.

I am also spraying the entire inside with rhino liner, and I have already bought self etching primer for the outside, can anyone suggest a good, middle of the road expense wise paint for the bottom/sides?

Thanks in advance for taking time to help me.

The measurements of your boat almost exactly match those of my MirroCraft 14 foot deep v and
it is rated at 25 HP.
Hope this helps.

If the boat's not going to be left in the water, spray it with Rustoleum enamel. But, put a hardener in the paint.

The paint and hardener is available at Tractor Supply in many colors.
