Thank you bonz_d for opening yourself up and putting your story out there. It means a lot to me personally and it'll be great to have you tag along. For our family, none of these hobbies really define us or consume me as much as they are a training tool. We live in an area that has a lot of poverty and fatherless children. I think it makes us try harder.
In 2011 we lost Mom to Lou Gehrig's disease after a 6 year struggle that took a huge toll on us. It's been a rough road, but The Lord has been good to us in spite of it all. I made a promise to raise these kids to appreciate all of the little things in life and have compassion on others. I also want Matt to be exposed to everything that I know by the time he's 18. He's actually helped me behind the scenes of the other boats, has all of his own tools, his own 1950's Wildcat tractor that he works on with Grandpa, and he's building electrical circuits from my own hand drawn schematics, lol. I'm a musician too so all the kids play something and have performed.
I got remarried last year, so it's been a tough transition for the little guy with a house full of girls. We men have a need to challenge ourselves and conquer those challenges, so he really comes alive when he starts to see the fruits of his labor. It's been kind of a positive escape.
Teamster, that's the parts motor for my Sport Craft. It's a 2000 four stroke 25hp Bigfoot with a spun rod bearing. I bought it for spare parts. The motor behind the little boat is the old DT200
Ahmincha, oh I know you didn't mean anything by it...thanks for the compliment.
