Hello . I have a 1999 120 hp force i started to hear a slite rumbling from the motor this was not happening often . Putting in nuetral and back in gear and it would stop . Talked to repair shop they told me it was a bearing in lower unit nothing serius He replaced bearing on drive shaft cost 350.00 .WEll THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM . Now he tells me that bearing on power head is bad and that if i put extra oil in gas that will help . He does not think the motor is worth fixing . The motor runs very well , replacement motor used 2000 mercury 4600.00 . any ideas out there ? Thanks Pete

It's not that hard to replace that bearing. If your mechanical.
Oh yea I'd change mechanics QUICK!!!!
Extra oil MIGHT help if that's really the problem. But extra oil usually only carbons up the rings. Then your rebuilding the powerhead too.
Fill out your profile.Someone who's qualified might live close enough to help.J
