I am doing a little hillbilly mod to my transom mount 50# Minn Kota. I want to bow mount it... the shaft is a little short, so I am going to put on a telescopic articulating handle. I cant twist the grip to adjust the speed, so I am thinking of ways to get around this fact.

I looked at Big Foot pedal... but it is only an on and off type thing... I got thinking that there MUST be a suitable 12 volt variable speed switch of some kind that I can find that would be suitable for gerry rigging into a "Gas Peddal" type thing. I also thought of a reverse polarity for forward and reversing...

Some of you may ask; "Why don't you just get a bow mount?" My answer is There is no fun in that!...and I like steering with my hand.

Any one know where I could source such a switch? I have found ones that are 12 volts... but low amperage (3 and 5 amp...) I kneed at least 50amps... and about 700 watts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
